A delightfully delicate shade of pale, lemon yellow, this yarn looks like the first hints of pale sunshine after a long winter. Dyed using dandelions, the subtle variations in colour throughout the skein mean this yarn will be truly stunning when worked up.
Tencel fibres are produced from wood pulp from eucalyptus trees, and are one of the most environmentally friendly fibres around. They are sourced from environmentally and socially responsible sources, use non-toxic processes to produce the fibres, and thanks to the properties of the natural material it never requires bleach. Tencel yarn is a little firmer and less ‘floppy’ than some other cellulose fibres, however it is still very soft, absorbent, and strong both when wet and dry. It also doesn’t wrinkle and it drapes well, making it an ideal choice for both clothing and accessories.
Tencel is a really excellent yarn to use, both in terms of its inherent properties and its environmental impact. If you have never tried it before we can highly recommend that you do!
This skein weighs 36g and contains approximately 56m (61 yds).
